Pocket Diaper License FAQ
What is the pocket diaper patent?
You can read all about the pocket diaper patent # 6579273 here.
The basics of the patent is a diaper that is made of a water-proof outer and a "stay dry" inner (any high or low pile polyester fabric that acts as a barrier next to the skin to keep the skin dry) that is sewn on 3 sides and has a pocket opening on a leading edge. Tereson Dupuy-Thomas is the inventor and the patent owner. The pocket diaper can have any type of closure: snaps, velcro- hook and loop- aplix, pins, snappie, ties, or anything else that could possibly close the diaper.

What is a license? In order to protect the patent, any patent, a patent holder will issue licenses to produce items that infringe on the patent. This means that if anyone makes a pocket diaper that falls within the patent, they need a license.
